What We Believe
Mission Statement
The purpose of Faith Alliance Church is to love God whole- heartedly (Matt. 22:37-40) and to help others to do the same (Matt. 28:18-20)
We Believe – Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He lived a perfect life, died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins. He arose bodily from the dead and will come again to establish His Kingdom.
Core Value 1
Lost people matter to God. He wants them found.
Luke 19:10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.
We Believe – People
All people are sinners and need God’s forgiveness. Those who trust in Jesus Christ, and Him alone, for their salvation are indwelt with the Holy Spirit, receive the gift of eternal life and become true children of God.
Core Value 2
Prayer is the primary work of God’s people.
Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be make known to God and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
We Believe – Christ’s Return
We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ. This return, at a time known only to God, gives us hope and motivates us to holy living and faithful service.
Core Value 3
Everything we have belongs to God. We are stewards.
I Chronicles 29:14 But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able thus to offer willingly? For all things come from you and of your own have we given you.
We Believe – God
There is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Core Value 4
Knowing and obeying God’s Word is fundamental to all true success.
Joshua 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
We Believe – the Bible
We believe the Bible is uniquely God-inspired and without error in the original writings. The Bible is a complete revelation of God’s will that can transform us into the kind of people God wants us to be.
Core Value 5
Completing the Great Commission will require the mobilization of every fully devoted disciple.
Matthew 28:19-20 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, (20) teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
We Believe – The Church
We believe that the true Church consists of those who have been justified by God’s grace through faith in Christ. They are united by the Holy Spirit in the body of Christ with Christ Himself as the Head. The Church has been commissioned by God to make disciples among all people by sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ in word and deed.
Core Value 6
Without the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, we can accomplish nothing.
I Corinthians 2:4-5 And my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
We Believe – The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit was sent to glorify the Lord Jesus, convict the world of sin, and indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for Godly living and service. It is the will of God that through the Holy Spirit each believer be separated from sin and fully dedicated to the will of God. This is a progressive experience.
Core Value 7
Achieving God’s purposes involves taking faith-filled risks. This always involves change.
Hebrews 11:6 He that comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
We Believe – To Come
At the end, everyone will experience bodily resurrection and the judgment. Those who have faith in Christ will enjoy eternal fellowship with God; those who do not will experience eternal punishment.
