What contributes the most to your spiritual growth?

I love how scripture can be taken at face value but if you start digging deep into it there is so much more God is saying to us.

I have found that taking prayer walks with my Savior is one of the best ways to restore and refresh my soul.

Things you enjoy doing individually or as a family.

Monte – Prayer walks in the woods, roller coasters, working with people of all ages, 80’s music and digging into scripture.

Kim – Reading the Bible and other insightful books, praying for friends and family, baking, foofy coffee drinks and teaching other women about Jesus.

Kira – Spending time in God’s word, curling up with a good book, dancing, baking and hanging out with friends.

We love our Lord and Savior Jesus, enjoy seeing new sights, trying new foods and laughing with family and friends.

Tell us a little about your family.

I met my wife Kim while attending Crown College. We have ministered/served in Janesville WI, Osage IA and Chilton WI.  Our one daughter is Kira. She is attending Crown College.

Tell us how you came to your ministry here at Faith Alliance.

It was in December of 2005 that I felt God stirring my spirit to get me ready for His calling of us to Chilton in November of 2009.

How has God been using you at Faith Alliance Church?

I am blessed to serve as the Lead Pastor after serving 16 years as the Youth and Family Pastor.  My desire is to be a faithful disciple and disciple maker of Jesus Christ and to help others to do the same.

Micah 6:8 states: “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God”.

Where do you see God’s hand at work at FAC?

I am blessed to serve here. Faithful leadership from the Elders and Deacons. Ministry leaders with vision and purpose. Insightful and gifted teachers for all ages. I get to teach a group of teens that are outstanding and give me encouragement.

The Body of Christ here at FAC desires to grow and walk in faith.

What contributes the most to your spiritual growth?

Reading God’s word, teaching it, worshiping and spending time with others talking about God’s word, our faith and how to live it out.

Things you enjoy doing individually or as a family.

I like playing almost any pickup sport, as well as rollercoasters, tubing and skiing. I also enjoy deep spiritual conversations and discussions. Erin and I enjoy hiking, riding, volleyball and other outdoor activities together. We are also always ready to beat people in a friendly game of Catan, Splendor, Dominion, Dutch Blitz and many other games.

I met my wife Erin while serving together at Silver Birch Ranch. I fell for Erin because she is a hard-working attractive redhead who loves God and people and isn’t afraid to stare down thousand-pound horses. We have been married 4 years have a dog named Scout and love campfires, country life and spending time with people in those contexts.

After serving two years at Living Waters Bible camp, I felt God calling me toward pastoral ministries. God then opened the door wide for me and Erin to both be involved in meaningful ministries in this area. We are so grateful for where God has led us.

How has God been using you at Faith Alliance Church?

During my time here so far, God has allowed me to connect and serve with the youth and many of their families. He has allowed me opportunities to teach and invest in both children, youth and adults. I pray he allows me to do so for many years to come.

Where do you see God’s hand at work at FAC?

Coming to FAC I am so blessed to work alongside fantastic ministry leaders, elders and deacons. God is active in this church from the kids to the youth, to the adults. This is a body of believers who are vibrant, care deeply for each other and desire to be doers of the word, not hearers only. I am blessed to be a part of this church.

What contributes the most to your spiritual growth?

Personal time reading and reflecting on Scripture and Listening to teachings on scripture by my favorite speakers are a couple of things that contribute the most to my spiritual growth in Christ Jesus.

Things you enjoy doing individually or as a family.

I enjoy fishing, kayaking, taking trips with my family, and inviting people over for dinner or desserts with coffee.

Tell us a little about your family.

Sara and I have been married 20 years. We have 4 children (3- girls ages 16, 13, 9 and 1 boy- age 6.  Competitive swimming is the main sport in our homeschooling household.

Tell us how you came to your ministry here at Faith Alliance.

I felt God was calling me into the Ministry in 2014. I didn’t want to do it, understanding that those who teach are held more responsible in God’s eyes for how and what they teach (James 3:1-12).  I spoke with the Pastoral Staff (Pastor Jim and Pastor Monte) about the calling into Ministry. They both agreed and confirmed God’s call on my life. My wife also confirmed God’s calling into Ministry. We thought it would be full time, however as I completed the Pastoral training for the Chrustian and Missionary Alliance; we (Sara and I) found that God kept leading me to scriptures about Paul’s tent making job so he was not a financial burden to the Church, nor could he be accused of teaching for financial gain. I spoke to Pastor Jim and Pastor Monte about this after I graduated in 2019 from the MSP (Ministerial Studies Program) which is now called LEAD.  The congregation of Faith Alliance Church supports me in this tentmaking Pastoral roll.

How has God been using you at Faith Alliance Church?

God has been using me in this tent making ministry by encouraging small group Bible Studies, meeting with the Pastoral Staff on a weekly basis as we talk and pray through issues in the church. I also serve as an Elder and AWANA Commander at FAC.

Where do you see God’s hand at work at FAC?

I see God changing the lives of families starting at the individual level.  I see God healing past hurts in individuals.  I see God breaking addictions (long, slow in our eyes, process). I see our God being faithful to His Word as we ask, seek and knock. He gives, reveals and opens to us the greatest treasure: HIMSELF. (Matt. 7:7-9)

What contributes the most to your spiritual growth?

Daily devotionals keep me in the Word every day. Some I do with a friend and some are from Our Daily Bread, the Bible App, or devotional books. They provide a variety of subjects, then scripture reading and then time to pray. Adult Sunday School also allows me to study the Word and hear from others in the class as we dig into the truth together.

Things you enjoy doing individually or as a family.

We enjoy camping and snowmobiling as a family. We enjoy time with our friends whether in our home or going out to eat. Personally, I love to sing! Singing worship music is something I hope to do until the Lord takes me home and then I will continue in heaven.

Tell us a little about your family.

Dan and I were married in 1994. We have 2 adult daughters Lily and Emily. Lily and her husband Dustin have one child, my first grandbaby Oakley! Emily is continuing her degree as a teacher at Crown College. Dan and I have lived in Chilton all our lives and grew up in the same neighborhood. He really is my best friend and thankful God made it so easy for me to find him.

Tell us how you came to your ministry here at Faith Alliance.

After 25 years working for a local business and then a Cardiomyopathy diagnosis, the Lord prepared me to leave my full-time job and provided this part-time position as Office Manager at FAC. His hand is evident in how he sustained me, prepared me, and paved the way for my next adventure.

How has God been using you at Faith Alliance Church?

I love being able to support the Pastors in both prayer and office support. I love being able to pray with and talk with those who call or stop in to the church. The support by the leadership teams is something I was not used to in my previous job, and knowing that the Lord directed the entire opportunity allows me to give thanks and praise for how he directs our paths.

Where do you see God’s hand at work at FAC?

As part of the Assimilation team and just being part of several other areas within the church I see how God is bringing in new people and bringing back old friends all while keeping His word at the center of the messages, the classes, and our fellowship. This is God’s church and He allows us to come alongside Him, and we are so blessed.
