Our Story
It all began outside a dance hall…

In 1935 Erwin Brueckner lived in Milwaukee. As a follower of Jesus Christ, he was always willing to speak to others about Jesus Christ. When urged by a dying man to go Brothertown, 70 miles north, and “share the good news of Jesus with my brother Bill”, he gladly went.

Erwin held a street meeting, complete with a string band, in Quinney on a Saturday night right across from the dance hall because he knew that is where people would be.

Bill Doxtator (the very man he was sent to find) came to know Jesus Christ and helped form a small church in Quinney. That was the beginning.

Erwin Brueckner had a love for his Savior and a love for people who did not know Jesus Christ. Those characteristics have defined this church through our history and we desire that they define us always.
Tests Will Come,
How Will We Respond?
By 1962 the church had grown and moved to Grand Street in Chilton and hence was called Grand Street Alliance Church. But the church was still small and in 1972 the district decided they would no longer send $200 per month to help with church finances. The small group met before the altar to commit the church and themselves anew to the Lord. The church was His; if He wanted to close it, that was His privilege. If He wanted it to continue, He would have to provide the finances. And He did! Pastor Syring, who was pastor at that time, said, “We came to realize what it means to put all on the altar and trust Him”.
This desire to live and walk by faith prompted our name change in 1984 to Faith Alliance Church.
