Frequently Asked Questions

Where is my Donation going?

You can determine where you want your donation to go by writing it on the envelope if cash, writing it in the memo for checks or selecting the appropriate fund on the Tithely App.

Are there different funds?

There are several funds to allocate your giving to:

  • General Fund
  • Great Commission Fund
  • Operation Christmas Child
  • Women’s Break Away
  • Awana
  • Youth fund
  • Discovery Land
  • Building Fund
  • WMPF (Women’s Missionary Prayer Fellowship) *not available on Tithely
What does the bible tell us about tithing?

Giving is a spiritual gift and is the ability to contribute material resources to the work of the Lord liberally and cheerfully.

2 Corinthians 9:7 “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

Will I receive an annual statement?

When using the Tithely App you will receive an email confirmation of your gift, however we also record all your giving to the church so that you will have an annual statement of giving to FAC for tax purposes no matter which method you choose. Statements of giving will be provided to you in January.  For more information, contact the church Treasurer or the church office.

How do I give to the Benevolent Fund?

The Benevolent Ministry offerings are used to assist those in need in our community, both within and outside our church body. There are several ways you can give to the Benevolent Fund. Each Communion Sunday an offering box will be available on a table in the foyer. Checks should be made payable directly to the Benevolent Fund: Faith Alliance Benevolent Fund

You can also purchase scrip cards, which look like credit cards in most cases. You can make the purchases you normally make and a percentage is paid to the Benevolent Fund by the business. It doesn’t cost you anything extra. Cards are available for hundreds of stores and can be purchased in amounts ranging from $10-$250. For example, if you buy a Wal-Mart card, you make your purchases just like you normally would, and pay with the purchased scrip card and the scrip program pays 3% of everything you buy back to our Benevolent Fund!  Plus you will get a receipt at the end of the year and can claim the 3% as a tax deduction.  If you give gift cards as Christmas gifts, please consider purchasing them through our scrip program.  To order your cards or for more information, contact our scrip coordinator Marilyn Lautenschlaeger or the Benevolent Team.
