About the Christian and Missionary Alliance
Who Are We?
The Christian and Missionary Alliance is an alliance of evangelical believers, joined together in local churches. We are “Christian” because we follow Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. We are “missionary” because we are committed to reaching people with the love of God and the good news of Jesus Christ.
Where Are We?
Since our beginning in 1887, The Alliance has grown to more than 2000 churches in the United States. We also have over 20,000 fellowships around the world in 81 countries. That is an alliance that is nearly 5 million members strong.
What Makes Us Unique?
The relationship between the local church and foreign missions is something that makes us unique. We believe the local church should be evangelistic both at home and also abroad. Alliance church members are given the opportunity to participate in taking the gospel around the world by supporting the Great Commission Fund, a fund that provides support to our missionaries around the world. Because of this support Alliance missionaries are free from the stress of money and raising support. They are free to focus on the work God has for them. Currently 809 Alliance missionaries serve around the world in 81 countries.
